Google issues since speed increase
Ever since I have been upgraded to 4Mb I have had a problem with the Google personalised homepage (www.google.com/ig)
I have this as my Homepage and when I open either IExplore(6) or Firefox(latest version) I have to enter a capcha code to get to my homepage. " We're sorry... ... but your query looks similar to automated requests from a computer virus or spyware application. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now." Image: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/wadski/Image1.jpg I have antivirus software running - scanned and passed Spybot - Clean (firewall disabled notification on only) Hijack This - Checked and clean. I cannot see any reason for this other than the speed increase. Any ideas? |
Re: Google issues since speed increase
It's probably just some people on your proxy with a virus bombarding Google.
Use a different proxy and the problem will probably go away and then a few days later change back. Google is often throwing this page up, as it is often a target. |

You can find out what cache you're on here (run the Proxy Test). Try changing to one of the others in your area (list here). This is a good thing to try whenever you have browsing problems ;) |
Re: Google issues since speed increase
It's just started happening to me about 2 days ago aswell, but i've been on 10mb since last year.
I just turned off the personalised google until i could find out what the problem is. |
Re: Google issues since speed increase
Had the same issues here for the past couple of days. Couple of friends that live locally also. It seems to come and go, last time was a few months back.
