Modem trouble shoot

Motorola: send flashing call tech support will need a tech to come and look at that :)

- Recieve flashing:
try rebooting and check the freqancy on the config pages http://192.168.100.1 in your web browsers. click signal if the up stream its anything other than 331000000 or 339000000 then that needs reset. other wise call technical support becouse it needs a tech

- Online Flashing/off:
just call tech support or the outage status line, its going to be a network issue most likly

Scientific Atlanta Web star:

Ok we will need to open the config pages for the webstar modems config pages enter http://192.168.100.1 in web browser address bar or click on that link ( but i guess you cant as you have no internet on the afected connection :p).

click signal > if the upstream is anthing other than 331000000 or 339000000 it needs reset.**

If either up or down is in not ready then reboot, if same after reboot it needs a tech call the technical support number.

** Reseting Freq:

- Motorolas: click configuration change freqancy to 331000000 or to 0.
what we normaly see it 331250000 as the weird freq it goes to

- Scientific Atlanta Web star:

go to 192.168.100.1/gscan.htm and change starting freqancy to 331000000 or to 0.

what we normaly see it 331250000 as the weird freq it goes to its started happening when we added 339000000 as a valid freqancy

hope that helps evryone

So so much of what you post say's you need an engineer to check stuff. Have you called, and what are they going to do?

All of the bits referring to upstream of 331000000 and 339000000 aren't quite right, that should be referring to downstream frequency, our cable networks only go up to 65MHz max on the upstream not 331 / 339.

eh and you can still access the modem config pages if the Internet is down... That's assuming the Modem itself isn't dead. Think you need to check your information a bit more.

Re: Modem trouble shoot

yes the up stream should say down stream. and yes the config pages can be accessed while the modem is offline... wheres the confusion there :S

Rob c i work on said tech suport line a network tech will need to be sent out to inspect the modem... those are the major/only issues you will get with the modems unless it gets blown up.

any why cant you edit your post bar the last one you posted, soz but its weird
