Belkin Mimo Wireless Router & Telewest Broadband
 

Hi all i need some help and would appreciate any!

Okay i can access the www but i do alot of peer2peer stuff and I keep getting indicators i stuck behind a firewall yet all my firewall setting Hardware and software are off/disabled.

my belkin wireless router has as dhcp scope and i access the scope via a wireless link on my laptop. Again I can access the net but eg bittornado still says im behind a firewall?

1.has aynoe got the same setup and got through okay?
2.if yes can you supply your settings
3.do telewest barr port id's for bittornado? if so what ports should i use
4.is there an embeded firewall on the motorola sb broadband modem?
5. can you turn telewest firewall off?
6.can i request a static ip from telewest?
7.i can get the firewall bittornado status to go green but then can only use internet from the main pc and not the wireless option when conneting via wireless laptop.
8.again whats the best config for MortorolaSB>>Belkin Wireless>>PC>>Laptop

:welcome: welcome to the forum

Maybe your routers firewall is blocking you.Acess the router set up and disable the firewall save and try again.If it connects now try setting the router firewall setting to basic if that was lower than original setting. You may need to try port forwarding this is simple enough but I dont use torrents so I do not knwo what ports needs forwarding

afaik with Bittornado you can choose the ports from quite a wide range

this gives some info

which recommends setting up the port forwarding in the router, rather than using uPnP forwarding, although I don't know why - maybe because it isn't standard on all routers??

thanks guys guess what i got it working.

i somehow removed both ethernet jacks and the the bittornado firewall status went green!

so no i have configure the my setup as follows

telewest cable>>motorola sb (on USB only!)>>belkin mimo wireless router so the physical link is now USB

Only problem is that i cant access the belkin 192.168.2.1 config unless i jackin one of the ethernet ports. I think the problem is to do with not being able to fully configure or change the select ip/firewall address outside of the belkin 192.168.2.1 to 100. range as when i connect any of the ethernet the firewall status on bittornado stays yellow??

Can you get wireless routers the let you change the firewall ip address outside of the dhcp scope?

firestorm. if you go to http://192.168.2.1 there to firewall and select disable.
