Engineers no show

in 2 weeks time, i will be moving from NThell on all packages, as they are getting that bad now, that they just dont give a sh*t about the customer.

I actually went about 48hrs without any internet, and had hit and miss for a week, so when i rung them, they decided to book an engineer for saturday morning between 8 and 1.

I stayed in ALL morning and there not an engineer in site, no phone call, e-mail etc, tell me either, so i rung up the useless people at ntl and i was quoted the following " The problems that we were experiencing have now all been resolved so the engineer was cancelled"

The communication from them is abosolutely appalling, if they arent going to send an engineer out what does it take to make a quick call to explain why and ask if there is still a need for them to visit, as i am pretty sure if it was they other way round they wouldnt be happy coming out and nobody being in when they turn up

A very ****ed off, near ex-NTL customer

I agree they could have contacted you, and any way your problems may have had nothing to do with the problems they had "resolved" so they could have at least checked with you :td:

If you go to www.ntlworld.com and click on the "tell us what you think" up in the right hand courner of the home page. Trust me they get looked at and actioned.

That would be funny.

Used the reponse form available in the first forum here. Tell them how badly they dealt with it.

Seriously, do that.

They subscribed to the terms and conditions of the contract just as you did.

If they refuse to pay then ask them what your recourse is in respect of their default.

If, as I suspect, they tell you that the engineers are not their responsibilty / third party then ask them why you would be expected to pay in the event of a default on your part to someone who is not party to the contract.

Post their answer here.

I have to admit i don't agree with some of your posts, However this is the best post i have seen on this forum in years. I too would like to see what NTL have to say reference this question. :tu:

Re: Engineers no show

Just a question but was the problem resolved??

The csr are a different dept to tec's, but even if they are not directly employed by the company, the company is still responsible for them and their actions...

In this case however the call was cancelled by someone who will always remain anon, so therefore a no show won't count..

You could however complain about poor service and if you do get a friendly csr you might get a deal, eg a month free service, £ 25 pounds off, just depends who you get and with all the flac flying,
plus jobs going if they are any people left there in a good mood...

The customer didn't cancel the appointment. It's still a no show no matter what way you look at it.

Re: Engineers no show

Nope, the call was cancelled, therefore there was no call, it won't show up as a no show....

A no show only shows up on icom's if the Tec had the call in his I D and didn't show up...

All Tec calls have to be assigned to a Tec or in a pool waiting to be assigned..

So IF the fault was fixed before the Tec got the job or even after it was assigned to him then cancelled off it still will not show up as a no show..

yep it sucks...

Office staff are now teflon covered as nothing ever sticks to them...

Re: Engineers no show

i think these issues are happening all the time, ive had engineers turn up before the time stated - luckily that time it was a problem outside the house, otherwise more time would have been wasted again.

i did get a reply from them, apologising, saying that the problem in the area was sorted.....and yes they should have been in touch....but this dont meen nothing, if they were so concerned, they would get in touch and talk to you face to face.....but most of the time they would be to frightened to do that.

Anyway, it wont matter in a few weeks....phone call to cancel all my packages as this was the last straw....get bt line in, cvan get a faster and cheaper BB package, and also sky+

Saving me at least £10 a month....3yrs with them and nothing, but as you look around this site, the amount of people that comment on all these new offers, but nothing for people who have been with them for a while.

Re: Engineers no show

i have been with them for 5 years and i am quite happy with my 2 mb bb, TV , phone and TU24 for £25.00 per month. I would like sky to try and beat that offer. and sae me £10.00 per month.

I also think that it is not only ntl who have problems with engineers not showing, I am sure Sky have the same problem. 2 weeks ago i had the same problem with a heating company, Better the devil you know i say
Read the http://forum.digitalspy.co.uk/board/...splay.php?f=14 first. does not seem to be as many complaints but they still get problems.
