Linksys Wireless Router WRT54GS Installation Software

Hi guys,

I just bought this item but the CD doesn't work!

Anyone know where I can get the software for it?

Ver 5.1 I think.

Thanks.

Tried the Linksys website? That has all software.

I've just managed to set it up manually.

Just to check with you guys, I'm on NTL 10Mb and have the following settings:

DHCP and nothing else changed other than the SSID name.
But I can't help but feel that I've lost 1Mb from the main connection line as previously a direct connection to the modem gave me 9.93 or so consistantly but now 8.93 consistantly going thru the router with an ethernet cable.

Does anyone know if I configured it properly?

I don't think there's anything you can do, settings wise, that would chop a Mb off your speed. Try it again with the PC connected directly to the modem; there may be a network issue rather than something wrong with your settings.

BTW, I set up my Linksys without the software even though the CD was in the box. As you have discovered, it's really not very hard to do ... :)

You dont need the CD to set it up. Infact its better to not use the CD.
Hope this helps.

Exactly, ive set up countless routers like that. Apart from one where i had to use the cd, but in my defence the router was broken
