tvdrive installed today

hi

thought id share my story as we have tvdrive setup how telewest said it wouldnt work.

tw came today and installed the new box. i was told because the tv wasnt HDMI that hd would not work in anyway. my tv is hd and it goes through dvi-i...

So when he left, using the component out ports on the back of the tvdrive i plugged it into the tv and it worked! Telewest were determined this would not work and in all the manuals it says it must be hdmi.

I was quite worried it woudlnt work but it did so if you have this worry, dont! our tv is a philips and there was a lead that came for the dvi-i port with the green blue and red connections. i just then used an audio cable to connect the audio. now high definition 1080.

i would reccomend tvdrive to anyone thinking about getting it.

thanks, philip:)

Re: tvdrive installed today

TV Drive will work through Component for the foreseeable future.

When they fully implement HDCP Encryption it will have to go through a digital connection such as HDMI or DVI (Component is analogue).

If your TV's DVI-I is HDCP compliant then your HDMI output will also work (you need a HDMI-DVI adaptor).
