Slow Browsing: 30/5/06
Many websites are not working, these are a few:
http://go.microsoft.com http://www.morpheus.com Either it goes to google search or it says: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Re: Slow Browsing: 30/5/06
Sorry, i'm in North West London.
I set my proxy to an ntl: Belfast proxy, it went worse. EDIT: I've changed my proxy to Bromley and the sites are working fine, browsing of websites is also much faster. |

Re: Slow Browsing: 30/5/06
I'll set it back to normal tomorrow.
I don't know what is going on with my area lately; i think they have oversubscribed the area. In the last 2-3 weeks the service has been so poor, and in the last month, ntl have been going to people's door in my area, putting leaflets through the door about Broadband, and also in the last month they have had a tent thing in my local shopping centre giving away 1Mbps Broadband for £9.99 for 6 months. If there are too many people, why are they so bothered to get more people to join in my area? |

Re: Slow Browsing: 30/5/06
Turns out there is an overload in the area.
I made a new thread regarding a simular issue. http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...016#post752016 |
Re: Slow Browsing: 30/5/06
Ok, something i've noticed is sites to do with P2P are not working such as:
www.morpheus.com www.limewire.com www.bearshare.com www.kazaa.com www.grokster.com I don't use any of those programs except Morpheus, it's also odd that Morpheus itself is working but the site isn't. Could it be ntl blocking me from going to these sites or just something else? |

Indeed the problem regarding websites redirecting to other websites had nothing to do with ntl: that was my fault, so sorry to ntl. The problem about slow browsing and some sites going to "page cannot be displayed" is to do with ntl: - due to something in my area being overloaded, they now have to many customers in my area and it can't take it. |
