Wireless networking help

Hi,

I am a complete newbie to the whole wireless networking thing, i bought a trendnet wireless router (http://www.trendnet.com/en/products/TEW-231BRP.htm) a while back
and could never get it working to share my ntl broadband connection.
I followed the guides provided but it always seemed to never connect to the DNS server.

Anyone got any ideas what i might be doing wrong? sorry for the lack of details, any help would be great.

Thanks

:welcome: to CF, pull up a chair and make yourself at home :)

Can you give a bit more detail. Are you using a cable modem or a set top box for the connection ?

What lights are coming on ?

Need a bit more info to be able to help you :)

Does the PC work if directly connected to the STB?

Re: Wireless networking help

If your connecting using a set top box then you need to clone the mac address.

Access the setup page on the router and copy the mac address of the card that you had the STB connected to originaly.

The first step is to connect the router to the computer and get into the setup page. This is usualy something like 192.168.1.1
