IMO, mahogany and cool don't really go in the same sentence.. mahogany and classic maybe, or mahogany and antique? Check out the ebay stores, I've always found a bargain. Try Argos?

I suggest a double futon from maybe Argos or Ikea? Low down, and also doubles as a spare bed if you have guests/friends stay over?

sounds good. thats problem my room inherited alot of mahogany furniture so can't at this stage change to say pine. .

any links to some nice futons> need something dark colour to blend in with room. Is ikea good spot for cool furniture and accessories or is there cheaper places like argos?

Ikeas cheaper with more range, and their stuffs actually pretty sturdy once you build it.

Gilpens in Sandy Row sometimes do good offers on futons, got ours there but it has a metal frame. Is Igloo in Boucher closing down, might get something there? There is a place over near the Westwood Centre, but I think they mainly do pine.

Only other place I could think of would be ideas near the bottom of the Lisburn Road.

go to ikea and buy plain pine carp. You can then stain it to look like any wood then either wax it or use a good acrylic clear varnish to finish :)

I got a futon from Ikea, was very sturdy and could also be stained or painted to what ever colour you like!

My best advice with a futon would be don't go for the cheapest mattress for it though as the thinner ones are not so comfy!

Do you drive? Take a day trip over to Scotland and as the others say go to an Ikea. Thats what we did when fitting out our bedrooms.
