anyone having trouble with the live streaming ? i keep getting errors like

Windows Media Player cannot access the file. The file might be in use, you might not have access to the computer where the file is stored, or your proxy settings might not be correct.

i am not using a proxy.....it was working fine until an hour ago.

It's working okay for me, though it's been constantly on since last night (i haven't been watching it all that time:erm:) :D

Are you using it from the ntlworld site?

yes i click "watch live" from ntl site.

I've had this problem before where it wouldn't stream because it thought it was already streaming it, (hence the currently in use warning).

Try using Task Manager to completely close down your browser and Media Player, and open it again, see if that works. I'm no techy but this did the job for me, either that or a total reboot!

is the broadband plus free? i'm on ntl 10Mb...

I'm having the same problems, restarting hasn't sorted it out.

Have you upgrade to WMP11 recently?? 'cause I have but it was working the other day on it......

I'm on 2mbit if that's relevent.

thats when the problems started is when i rebooted. before that it has been on 40+ hours. i also just rebooted again and get same thing.

and yes BB Plus is free for 4 and 10 meg users

i did have wmp 11 installed for a couple of weeks but then live streaming stopped so i reverted back to wmp10 and same problems

still not working, typical NTL, working one min then diddly squat the next. Keep up the good work NTL.

It's something wrong the authentication mechanism. I've added ntlworld and broadbandplus to the Trusted Zone in IE, removed all cookies, rebooting PC and modem, disabled my firewall and it still doesn't work :cry: Just a blank screen. I watched it once after registering, now nothing. Interestingly, if I go back to the signup page where I entered my name/email address, it doesn't give me that option - just gives me a link to buy broadband :erm: Presumably the web servers think I'm not on broadband. Cheap programmers - get what you pay for.

i thought id take a look and see if they let you play the stream in anything other than the browser and media player.

its working here for now, but you cant even play it outside the browser and hence cant stuff it in a corner with allways on top set.
if someone can find the direct url then you should be able to use any video app including VLC and WMC.

right clicking the video info gives you this url
http://www.ntlworld.com/broadbandplu...rother/ews.php

but its not the direct link as they most redirect and cover their tracks to a server streaming file.
right clicking the 'big brother live' text brings back this html
