Streaming problem with Linksys WRT54GS version 5.1
 

Hi guys,

I'm posting this here as a last resort. I've tried absolutely everything in my knowledge to make my internet connection run smoothly with videos.

For some strange reason i can't stream videos without constant stops/buffering when connecting trough my router.When i plug the computer directly to the modem i don't have this problem. I presume that something is wrong with the setup of my router but i cannot figure out what it is.

I've tried turning off the router's firewalls but it didn't help much. What could it be? i ran NetSet a few times but the problem still remains. i've also contacted Linksys technical support but they were not much of a help.

I am on 10mb connection and everything works perfectly apart from this video issue.

Does the MTU you have set on your router match what you have set on your pc?

Also, have you tried different fimware for the router?

Thanks for your input.

The MTU on my router was set on auto mode. However, just to eliminate this possibility , i changed my computer's MTU to 1460 adjusting the router's to the same value. Nothing changed.
To be honest i don't think this could be the cause of the problem since my other laptop is also experiencing the same streaming issue.

As for the firmware, i'm currently using the most recent version which is the 1.50.5. Do you think i should downgrade the firmware?
