Setting up hardware router/firewall on STB

Does anyone know how I get my router/firewall connected?

It wants to get details from a DHCP server, but it gets no response.

Have tried to copy IP details from PC but still no joy.

The way I see it is you cant use the CD to install as it will look at the setting on the PC, not the router and NTL dont give you install connection details so I'm stuck. Using a Samsung STB.

I know theres a MAC entry that needs adding at NTL but not sure how this is done either manually.

Many thanks in advance.

Have you tried powering off the STB, router and PC, wait, power up STB, wait for lights to lock, power up router, wait for lights to settle and then power up PC?

Dexter,

Try the following -

Power off STB, Router and PC.
Connect STB ethernet port to WAN (aka internet) port on router with RJ45 cable.
Connect router port 1 to PC with second RJ45 cable
Power on STB, wait 30 secs, power on router, wait 30 secs, power on PC.
On PC, browse to start.ntl to register the MAC address of the router with the STB.
You should then be able to connect to the internet.

If this still doesn't work, tell us the make and model of the router.

BTW - I would suggest you edit your first post to remove your IP address. It could make you a target for hackers!
