BB sign up help needed please
Hello. Can any NTL people help with this? I would have posted on .com but can't for obvious reasons.
My brother has NTL phone and tele. He called the 0800 order number on Monday this week for a 150k installation. He was told they would call back. I told him not to hold his breath. He has called twice more since and was told the same thing. Still no one has called back. He told me this morning that he is considering two options, dumping NTL and going back to BT and Sky or using the AOL disc. One of those options seem sensible! Can anyone help get him the BB connection that NTL are apparently advertising as a promised install before Xmas? I have just looked on NTLworld to find out some up to date info and the free install cut off date mentioned is 31.10.03. |
Re: BB sign up help needed please
Welcome to the wonderful world of "someone will call you back sir/madam" :dozey:
Your brother needs to make a decision-go with a company who can't even treat a potential new customer with respect, or look for another provider. If the 150k service is in your brother's price range, then Tiscali now offer a 150k BB package via ADSL for £15.99 per month (see my post here on switching providers here) Tiscali link HTH. |

Re: BB sign up help needed please
Well, ntl seem to be getting very good at showing customers they dont give a monkeys.
I often sit here wondering how long I will have my connection with NTL, after all, they are crap at keeping customers and getting ever more crap at recruiting new ones! |

Re: BB sign up help needed please
Thanks for the replies. I have to go around his house later to finish setting up the computer for him. I had an idea that might get him online this evening. If anyone can see any pitfalls in this, please post them.
Firstly, add all the software he wants and get the computer just about right. Create a restore point and then use the AOL disc. Go to NTL website http://www.ntlhome.com/ntl_internet/...worldportalnav and order on line either a dial-up without the NTL disc or order the 150k that he wanted originally. I am assuming that in ordering the dial-up without a disc, NTL would have an automated process of sending the password and dial in number to an email address. Also that we would need to enter telephone, house, account numbers etc. If I remember correctly, isn't the dial up account seperate from all the others he may have? By which, it is paid for on direct debit as opposed to being lumped in with tele and phone. If this works, then try to remove AOL using the restore point if necessary, then get on-line with NTL dial-up. ADSL would be a last resort as far as he is concerned. He just wanted someone to take his request of 150k, process it and have an installer come around and connect it. Simple really isn't it? Grum, thanks for the offer. It will be taken up if we get stuck. Cheers |
