Problems setting up wireless router

Hi ,
this is my first thread to this forum and was wondering if any of you could help me with the following problem as i am quite a computer novice with regards to setting up networks.
My daughter has purchased a SWEEX WIRELESS ROUTER MODEL NO LC000070 and so far I have not been able to set-up the router.
the current set-up is that broadband is accessed through her pace NTL set top box.(The os is windows xp with sevice pack 2)I have only tried connecting the router to the pc with a wired connection then followed the manufacturers instructions to access the webpagehttp://192.168.123.254 but get a message saying unable to find webpage.I have reset the router and tried to obtain the web address but still unable nto connect.Iknow that the router is ok as I have tried it on my own computer and ican set the router up ok (I HAVE ACABLE MODEM 250 FROM NTL).
tHANKING YOU IN ANTICIPATION

Bill
