Re: ip address

Maybe there has been some sort of network change in your area, new IP address range allocation.

Re: ip address

The new IP address in itself won't be but the reason it's changed may be, so if your sure there's nothing dodgy happening on your PC you'll need to contact tech support.

What will help you in that though is if you can actually give them some background info as well.

The first question has to be, as far as you can tell when did the change happen and have you checked the service status pages to see if there was any planned works in your area for that time?

If it was yesterday for instance then its more likely to have been a fault that's not 100% fixed whereas if it was Thursday morning and there was planned works then there's probably been an upgrade in your area that needs a touch of fine tuning.

Secondly, has the address changed completely or is just the last group of numbers.
If its been changed completely then that's more indication that work has been done in the Headend/Hubsite.

If its just the last group of numbers then while its still possible its not as likely to be internal work and may be the result of a fault again.

By answering those simple questions before ringing up you may be able to avoid the question and answer session but either way when they get to the stage of claiming its your PC you can be adamant that its not.
