connection problems

For the past few weeks my net connection has been up and down a lot. Had a few engineers out to look at it, but they usually replace a connector and/or tighten some bits and then say that was the problem. Its a bit annoying going through the tech support because its so time consuming and because I have a set top box and a cable modem they usually ignore the problems im having and instead they try to update my account details (been through the same thing 7 or 8 times so far).

im not sure it will help when the cable is down, im using an ntl 200 cable modem, it has the ENET LED on solid and the D/S LED flashing, all others are out.

i can access the modem through 192.168.100.1 and here are some other bits of info.

does anything here indicate where the problem might be? The engineers never seem to check the log, they just do a signal strength check.

Thanks for any advice, ill give more info as well if needed.

Re: connection problems

Might not be the same problem, but I did have similar problems:

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/sh...ad.php?t=43716

Turned out to be a return path problem in one of the green cabinets and needed a network engineer to sort it

Good luck with your problems!

Re: connection problems

Well your modem hasn't locked onto a frequency so that needs an engineer.
