netgear wgt624 speed problem

hi guys - if i connect my modem (sb4100) straight to the pc - 10meg.
If i connect modem - router - pc - 6-7meg.

any ideas? settings wise not alot i can change - one wireless laptop, but the concern is the wired pc only having 6meg.

if no ideas - then anyone using a similar router without the speed problem??

cheers

ps - sorry - am on ntl 10meg

My quick suggestion is that it's chopping the connection up between wireless and wired, and is therefore lowering throughput.

I love edits, don't you?

Ok, this is off-topic. Sprry.

On Topic from now on. Get this issue resolved.

Which firmware do you have ? If you don't have the latest, try it, sometimes issues can be resolved with a firmware upgrade.

Make sure you get the right firmware, check to see which router version you are using.
