ntl internet so slow
 

im not very happy with my internet ive go 1mb bradband and sometimes it VERY slow and it not just mine my sister next door to me has got the 1mb aswell and it slow at times so i did a internet test last night and it came back with some shocking results my internet speed it 62% slower then the averge ntl user!!!!!! ive looking on there site but there no where for me to send an email to them about this

It will be slower than the average user, the average user isn't on 1Mbit ;)

Define very slow. Slow browsing? What were the speed test results? Is online gaming bad if you do it?

Have you spoken to ntl about this rather than sending an email which will probably not be answered? What did they say?

well i cant phone them cos im only 16 and it my dads internet andd his dont understand things like this.
loading up intetnet pages is slow my xbox live is slow and ths download test thing is 119kb/s

One other thing that i did, is what you did, i went to a couple of neighbours, and tested their speeds, all 3 [and mine] were terribly slow.
When mentioned to tech support the reply was, "tell them to ring if they are unhappy", not "thanks, now we can see there is a problem".
So mentioning it probably wont help you any, and i think ntl rely on a lot of people not noticing their connection is duff.
It might mean having to fix something, if its fixable that is. ;)

This site gives good info but as I was told yesterday on the phone that " this is NTL and we don't use the emails method for helping customers" I pointed out that all ISPs allow some degree of help over emails but had the reply " We are larger than those and we don't this is how we do our business "

So dont bother sending emails they will not reply to them even though they have one listed here on Corporate contact info

Get your dad to ring have it all infront of him the pings etc and ask him to put you on if he is having problems explaining it all they will talk to you if your father puts you on.

For 1 Meg, 119kBps is spot on!
Unless your getting 119 kbps which is 1/10th of the speed!

That's the correct speed for that service level. Suspect you might be falling victim to core network issues that are being seen, however as you've not given anything to help with diagnostics can't say any more.
