Problem downloading with Xbox Live using NTL
 

To cut a lot story short, over the last week I have been unable to download demos from Xbox Live(connection timeout), yet I still have full access to XBL and am able to play online games etc.

Anyway, the reasons I think it is NTLs fault is because I can download fine on my computer from most websites, but I cannot download the two test files that MS puts on their website(again, connection timeout), which are from the XBL server.

The two files are confirmed working from several friends of mine, and are situated here:

Test one: http://68.142.127.15:3074/o2/test1.dat (158 MB)
Test two: http://68.142.127.15:3074/o2/test2.dat (158 MB)

I sent NTL a traceroute(see below) from my machine to the XBLs server, but they haven't got back to me yet.

Is this likely to be NTLs fault and what can I do to push them into sorting it out asap, I've already gone a week with it not working.

orlroight blanchy, i've had similar probs myself lately but as far as i can make out its just the live demo servers getting hammered at peak times, yesterday at around six pm i tried to get the graw and tomb raider demos but got timeouts and when i could connect i was getting dial up style speeds down, but when i got up today at aruond 7.30 am got both of them in about an hour.. go figure! btw my gamertag is p4ck3tl0ss if you wanna buddy me and play some time..

Yeah, I've tried downloading at off peak times but I still get connection errors.
Can you download either of the two test files?

BTW this problem started happening sometime at the end of March. Have NTL done anything to the service which could be causing this error? I'm on 3mb. I live in Weybridge,Surrey if that makes a difference.

yeah the test files are fine for me at the mo will try again later to see if there's any change..

Yeah I can't d/l either of those files.

Was hoping somebody who understood traceroutes could give me an idea of what the problem is.

This sounds like an NTL web proxy cache problem. Traceroutes will be of no assistance.

Both working fine for me right now. The web proxys only catch stuff on port 80 so its probably a routing issuse.

Whats my best line of action for sorting this out?

Is it even NTLs fault?

Every time I query them about it they just tell me that Xbox is unsupported hardware...

i have a problem with hosting on GRAW i have 10mb Blueyonder i should be able to host at least 10 man server but i can only bout 8.for some reason my games are somtimes not visible to people that are searching on ranked matches too
