anyone else having probs today in Newport area?
 

Can get most webpages but can't get:-

www.virgin.net
www.tesco.net

Trillian won't find ports

Newshosting won't connect,

Also can't get mail which is on virgin.net

virgin & tesco are on NTL servers so I'm wondering if it's a general outage but I've had this problem with all the above all today and haven't seen anyone else report the problem.

Hi,

I cant access www.gmail.com while my MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger wont connect.

I can access alot of other sites too, but Tesco and Virgin dont work from here either.

I'm in the Swansea area.

I changed my proxy settings to another Swansea one from this list....

And I could access gmail once more, albeit a bit slower. I could also get to Tesco and Virgin websites. Give one of the proxy's on the list a go!

Thanks. proxy seems to do the trick to get the websites. no luck on mail, trillian and newshosting connecting though.

Must be a NTL problem I'm guessing

I'm in Neath and have had problems since around 2:30pm today - just been online via Broadband Medic Tech Support and they admitted there is a problem that they are hoping to have resolved soon.

Did as suggested in earlier posts and changed proxy server for Swansea area and this has done the trick for most sites (and MSN), so happy enough for now.

Sorry Busby - went straight to bed after I posted that message - couldn't do much else to be honest!

I wasn't receiving mail either and more importantly couldn't connect to any of my work's systems, which is rather awkward since I am working from home!

Anyway, it all seems to be working fine this morning, so it looks like they've finally got it fixed.
