Connection keeps dropping

Hello all.

Ok this has been hapening for 3 days now, the SYNC light just goes off, sometimes im able to keep browsing other times i have to reboot the modem then between 5 minits and 5 hours it happens again, my connections been flaky for about 2 weeks but its getting worst, i got disconected for around 2 hours on saturday and have just been disconected for half an hour now.

My modem is a NTL 200, i dont have any other products from NTL just 2meg brodband, my postcode is BB9.

The only contact i have made with NTL is online and they just tell me to ring them, ringing them is a last option as i dont have a phone.

I read up a bit about signal levels and from what i can make out there fine though im not 100% sure. :)

If anybody can help out id really apreciate it.

Here is the event log....

Post your signal levels so we can verify that its not the problem seeing how you are unsure.

When your connection drops, check the signal levels... does the upstream dB shoot to 60+ dB?

If so, I had that problem and it took so many engineer visits to get it sorted.. it was a return path problem in one of the green boxes on the street.

I was receiving the same sort of error log you posted, hope this helps.

Another update, ive just rang them, they told me they cant see anything wrong there end.

They said the only thing they can do is send a engineer out but if its working when the engineer comes out there going to charge me, i told him it definatly will be working when he comes out as it only cuts of for a minite.

I have to ring back when my girlfriend gets in as the service is in her name they need to speak to her to sort out a engineer visit, ive just got to make it clear to them we cant be charged.

Another update, rang them again a engineer is coming out today and i wont be charged.

Guy on the phone was very helpful, just hope they get it sorted.

Yet another update to anyone thats intrested.

A engineer came out today checked my line with his little box thing and said the connection was weak, then realised he hadnt plugged the cable all the way in to his box thing :D and the cable came back as fine.

He replaced my modem with a new small blue NTL 250 and said give us a ring if it carrys on happening.

So far so good it hasnt happened, so as long as it dosnt happen again thats great from ringing them at 11.00 it was sorted 4 hours later.

Ill update this post in a few days.

Cheers.
