Anyone get the important information about your bill

Abstract of letter

"We are constantly reviewing our customers' monthly bills to guarantee the integrity and accuracy of our charging. This month during one of these reviews, we identified an error affecting your bill.

Instead of charging the correct calls on your March bill, we have reprinted the calls that were on your February Bill.

You will need to pay your March bill as usual and then we will correct this error on your April bill. "....

Blah blah blah....

Thats all very nice NTL thanks for letting me know so why don't you tell me what the call charges were and ask me to pay that amount.

Probably because they can't at the moment, but they can put a photocopied sheet into your bill.

So why bill me for something that is obviously wrong. Why not bill the call data next month ?

Because the billing system only runs once a month and the error didn't come to light until after the bill run this is why you got the letter now so when your next bill drops on your doormat you won't be so surprised

Your bill will probably look like

Feb Calls (credited back)
Mar Calls (charged)
Apr Calls (charged)

btw from what I can remember this only affected certain customers on one stage of the billing cycle

Sounds about right. So instead of waiting a month to bill yoiu for the calls, they take the money, earn intrest off it, and then credit you back. That's nice of you NTL.

Re: Anyone get the important information about your bill

Whats happened is that some customers have been billed for their February calls instead of their March calls so it's just a case of an adjustment on next months bill. The top and bottom of it is that these customers will be paying no more or less than they should pay over the two months bills.

Feb calls (already paid for on last months bill and charged on this one so credited back on next months)
Mar calls (not charged on this bill so charged on next months)
Apr calls (billed as normal)

So if the Feb calls were £12 and the Mar calls were £10, that will be a credit amount of £2 showing on the Apr bill and Apr calls billed as normal

Yeah, NTL just care about getting money out of you and sorting it out later.

Makes me wonder, after reading this post, if its even legal? As they are knowingly billing you an incorrect amount.

:erm: As the letter said, this didn't come to light until after the bills had been produced so they weren't knowingly billing the wrong amount, the customers have only been charged for one lots of calls this month so they ain't paying two lots in one go.

ps Check your PM's ;)

I've got this problem and when asked for a replacement bill was told a fee of £4 would be charged. Then I got a bit upset......
