You can only connect one device at a time to the modem with the standard service. Thus you can use either the ethernet, or the USB connection, but not both and the other one has to be unplugged. When changin any devices connected tothe modem, you must reboot the modem (power off and then on) so it sees the changed device. When we talk of device we mean PC, game console or router. I don't have a PS2 so don't know the full ins and outs, but if you want to avoid swapping connections all the time you either need to use a router between your modem and PC/console, or perhaps you could do internet connection sharing (PC connected direct to modem, console connected to PC). ---------- Post added at 16:06 ---------- Previous post was at 16:06 ---------- Thread moved to networking |
Re: Help!
I'm not sure that ICS would work with a PS2... although admittedly I've never tried it. However, what Rob says about rebooting the modem, or simply buying a router, is spot-on :tu:

Re: Help!
I have the old style PS2 and the new slim one isnt much different, you just need either
a) connect your ps2 directly to your broadband modem with an ethernet cable b) connect your ps2 to your router using an ethernet/network cable c) connect your ps2 to a wireless bridge/gaming adaptor and then connect that to your wireless router, but this means you cant use your computer and ps2 at the same time ---------- Post added at 18:50 ---------- Previous post was at 18:45 ---------- I forgot to say you dont need to pay NTL a gaming fee to play online |
