Can I have STB and SACM
I already have a cable modem installed upstairs, will be getting the tv box installed downstairs. Will ntl let me keep my broadband connection upstairs or will i have to get a wireless box for downstairs?
thanks dave |
Re: Can I have STB and SACM
If you have a SACM you should get a STB additional to the modem. In fact if they try to take the modem away tell them no, because you are considering 10meg (even if you aren't)

Re: Can I have STB and SACM
dont see why they should remove the sacm as ones for BB other for tv etc , like would not make sense , i have both here in fact 2 stb's for tv and 1 sacm for 2meg BB

Thanks, it was just that i was under the impression that then STB's have a ethernet port... maybe this is incorrect.

If theres a installed and working cable modem they will leave it and install the stb, I doubt they would even try set-up trough ther stb even if it was a poor signal situation. |
Re: Can I have STB and SACM
Yep - I've got both and a mate round the corner just had broadband installed (1 meg) and they put him a modem in, it's even next to the STB in his lounge....
We both live in an area where they use STBs to provide the cm connection - in fact mine used to be through the old Pace STB but was always locking up so I got a SACM as well. |

I've got two STBs and a SACM. You can have what you like.
