How do I reboot my Belkin Wireless G Router ?

Got up this morning and found a row of static lights on my Belkin Wireless G Router (802.11g). I've unplugged and re-plugged everything but no change.

I appreciate there is a reset hole on the back but it's of little use as it's just a hole now ...... I think I might have broken it last time I rebooted !!!

Is there any way I can reboot or reset the machine without this reset hole ?!!!

Try Unplugging it and leaving it for a couple of hours

There should be a factory reset function in the web based control panel.

It doent sound like he'll be able to get any response out of it but its worth a try.

You didn't perhaps upgrade the firmware?

Probably me being stupid here but how do I access the online panel when the router is "off-line" ? I've had to move the cable connection back to the PC in order to get on the internet but, presumably, the online control panel requires the modem to be reachable ...... doesn't it ?

I haven't touched the router. It was fine last night, got up this morning and ALL lights were on solid and there was no internet link on any PC.

Nope the online CP is on the router itself.

I'm obviously missing a trick here !!!

How do I access the Router when the NTL cable is now running directly into my PC ? Normally it runs into the router and then the router is connected to my master PC by (blue) cable.

If I try to access the control panel, I just get "page not found" but that's presumably because their is nothing connecting the PC to the router !!!

You do need the PC attached to the router (either wirelessly or wired, but wired is preferable) to access the router's control web site.

You normally access it through 192.168.1.1 not sure if it would work through an almost dead router but just throwing options out.

Belkins are normally 192.168.2.1

yeah you cant axx the routers settings when the router is not working. If you cant reset it manually i think your stuffed. Belkin just tell you to stick a paperclip in the back, but ive also destroyed the reset that way, not made very well is it <_<

Spot on .......... that's how mine broke  !!!

Anyway, sorted now.

Took the Router outside and kicked the hell out of it. Doesn't work at all now but I feel a whole lot better for it.

I've rushed out and bought a new router which is running nicely :D !!!
