Press RED - See RED!!
Is There any way of stopping the annoying 'press Red' logos - or for that matter the 'coming next' overlays? (In my experience pressing red either turns off the telly, or brings up 'please wait' - which will only go away when you pulling the power out of the back of the STB!) tia

Re: Press RED - See RED!!
Press the "back" button just the once and the "press red" will go away

Re: Press RED - See RED!!
Yes but it reappears a few minutes later or has it finally stopped doing that?
|
Re: Press RED - See RED!!
No, there is no way. It is only meant to be shown once per programme, when it is shown more that is because the channels are sending a 'show press red' command, so you could try complaining to them.

I usually recommend pressing the "TV" button on the NTL remote it seems to do the job for me at home. |
Re: Press RED - See RED!!
I believe its nothing to do with ntl its the broadcaster that puts this kind of info on the screen, just press the back button to get rid of it, its not like it covers the whole of the screen I bet it covers less than 0.5%.

Re: Press RED - See RED!!
Before the conspiracy theories start, this also happens on Sky.

You can set your Sky digibox to remove it after 30 seconds though :) |
Re: Press RED - See RED!!
Ad I understand it, you are only supposed to see the press red once per programme, at the start, and when you initially tune to the channel, rather than every 5 minutes as has been the case since the new software was rolled out.

Re: Press RED - See RED!!
It's a bug and is being worked on. The only fix is to press "back" but like you say, it may return.
Nothing 1st line or 2nd line can do about it unfortunately. Nicky |
Re: Press RED - See RED!!
WHY is it even set for "ONCE per programme" ??? :(
Do we REALLY need to be reminded every half hour-odd our remote has a RED Button !! ??? !! ... never mind every 10 minutes odd :(( ...even IF we choose to use that ^%^%$-ing Button ;p :) Me. I just want to watch normal TV, nothing more !! :) |
