AVG freeware & Outlook Tiscali conflict?

I installed outlook on a tiscali using machine and set it up with a tiscali account using the standard pop access settings etc. Could not get it working for love nor money. I uninstalled AVG virus software and it worked straight away.

When it was installed it kept sort of checking and checking everytime i tried to sent or recieve - but I think the recieving part of it was the main thing as some of the test messages managedd to end up with the intended recipients

Was Outlook installed after AVG?
If so, you may need to configure AVG to allow incoming emails.
Have you tried reinstalling AVG now your outlook is working correctly?
