2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
With the now complete merger of NTL and Telewest there is an abvious gap in the quality of the broadband offerings in terms of value atl least.
For example I pay £17.99 for 1MB with a 100k upload. Not a very exciting offer it has to be said. I noitce on the Blueyonder website tonight that as a web exclusive you can get 2Mbps for £14.99 for the first 12 months (which is as good as indefiniatley in my book) It would seem sensible that the two sides of the gtroup bring their portfolio into line to generate some consistency. Id very much like to be hiked up to 2Mbs, have something done with my upload, and have my bill cut by £3 ! |

Re: 2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
Looks good! I'd be happy to have my 1Mb put up to 2Mb at the upload set at around 200kbps. At least that would be slightly more in line with other ISP's in the UK. Of course Id welcome 10MB, but Id bber happier I think if they offered 2MB at around £17.99 and priced the 1MB at around £12.99 and Id probably take that as Im tight!

No change to your services For now, it's business as usual. There is no change to existing products and services. There are also no changes to contracts or contacts. Both companies continue to operate as normal, under the existing names. As a customer of ntl you continue to be a customer of ntl. http://www.ntlworld.com/ntl/ntl.php?page_zone=219.12.1 |

Re: 2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
True, but you can get better. UKonline do 1MB unlimited for £9.99 with a 256 upload (only in certain areas) and MadAsAFish do 2Mb with 5gb cap for £17.99. Tiscali are very reasonable too. All better in my opinion, but I stick with NTL for the fact that I dont have to have a telephone line.

Plus its unlimited..? lol wow that makes alot of difference to me, i didnt use the 30gig limit a month.. they do offer some crap.. they must have seen that 98% of customers didnt go no where near the limit monthly, so they decided to make it unlimited, making it look good for them.. |
Re: 2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
not all 100% adsl customers are going to get 2meg. exchange distance has it's limits.
---------- Post added at 10:54 ---------- Previous post was at 10:53 ---------- and how does a 5gb cap make it unlimited? |
Re: 2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
The point I tried to make it that 2MB for £17.99 is better than 1MB for £17.99 that NTL offer, in that both directions are twice the speed of the NTL product for the same price. However I am happy with not having to have a land line.

Re: 2Mbps for £14.99 - Will NTL now Match Blueyonder options?
gareth sorry I missed it but is this 2meg £17.99 unmetered? because ntl's £17.99 product is unmetered.
