AFAIK things like this are usually signalling problems, have you had picture freezing/ quality problems at all?

This week I've started to have problems with my Samsung STB in that the picture freezes on a few channels. Notably it's ITV and C4 but generally in the evenings. It vertually died Tuesday night when I went to watch the footy, I got a frozen pic that changed about every 10 seconds. Audio kept breaking up as well. Would this have something to do with signal strength, or would that then affect all channels?

I'm no expert on theis so I was just wondering if a lot of people tuned in to the same channel at the same time in a local area, whether it would have an affect on the signal or not. I did call a friend up at the time who lives a few streets away and he was fine.

Generally if the box is freezing more than 5 times in an hour I'd advise to call in to faults. This can be affected by signal strenght, make sure all the cables are plugged in securely. The reason I've been told that it only affects certain channels is that when there's a poor quality signal, certain frequency ranges are affected more than others - hence certain channels.

As for your last point yes this can affect freezing pictures and may affect you but not your friend, he may be connected on a different cab or be closer to the cab than you are.

The box being slow to turn over can be a result of it just being old or the memory filling up, if it sees a noticeable improvement after a reboot that's probably just that.

As for the sound, if it's chirping other than a cable check and reboot, I'd still reccomend calling faults to possibly get a hit sent, and engineer visit if that doesn't resolve.

My apologies, not my intention. Hopefully it's on the go again.
