Samsung SMT-2100C - A Compatable Router?

Hi!

Networking Novice (and Forum Novice!) seeks probably really basic info....................

Am on 1Mb NTL BB via SMT-2100C. It all works OK, no issues. (Tho I went thro 4 Pace boxes a while back)

I'm the only PC user, but need to have my two PC's able to be used on BB without having to as now swap ethernet cables and re-log computer. They are side by side and near the Cable Box, so I would prefer simple Ethernet connection via the seemingly "old style" wired hub, but ideally would also like wireless ability on one PC to move it upstairs (say 6 metres from box and one wall) to keep Internet ability while room is having building work going on.

What's a suitable model or models to buy for retaining best speed and bandwidth, cost effectiveness and compatability? And any particular setup requirements not clear from info supplied with router?

Thanks,

Dave
