WIFI Help Please
 
I have just bought my first ever pc.It's a wi-fi laptop.I have an NTL 1mb
broadband ethernet connection.I was wondering if it is possible to have
a wi-fi connection? and if so,what do I need to buy? All help greatly
appreciated.

by Wi-fi do you mean wireless 808.11 b or g standard? Assuming you do, a wireless router is all you need. Make sure your on board wirless for the laptop is enabled. Power off the modem before conecting the router, and check the router connections initially wired before you try and set it up wirleless.

You might get away with a wireless Access Point, but that would only support a single computer connection and we've seen some compatibility issues with those as the ntl modems get confused as to what device they should actually be seeing and communicating with.
