WinXP Wireless Network

There maybe a simple answer to my question - I Hope!!

How do I access the other PC's on the network for file and printer sharing?

I have NTL broadband through an STB which is connected to a router, which is then connected to my main PC. I then also have another PC and a laptop connected wirelessly to my PC. The two wirlesssly connected PC's are connected to the Internet through my PC and working fine - I just cant' seem to be able to connect to those PC's to share files.

Do I need to connect my PC, that has the router attached, to the other PC's using another wireless adapter? I was presuming that I should be able to connect using the router!!

All help appreciated.

Thanks.

It sounds like you should be able to.

Provided you share a folder on the host properly you should just be able to connect to it by using "\\PC IP address\sharename" typed into an explorer address bar.

You should be prompted for a username and password if you've opened the share to locally authenticated users rather than open to the world.

Bear in mind however, firewalls installed on any of the machines involved could get in the way unless they're properly configured.

:welcome: to CF by the way.
