Sharing Files

All the PC's on my wireless network can recieve access to the Internet, but i would like to share the resources of the PC's. Here is my problem, because the internet is recieved by all computers on my network, is there a way that i can just share the files and folders?

Ok just one more question, can i share only certain folders, with my mum and dad, and not my whole drive? Though now i think about it, i could map my drive, but would i still be secured with Zone Alarm?

By default your router's firewall will be blocking incoming file sharing requests, so unless you've fiddled with the firewall you should be ok.

You can configure ZA to only allow access from their computer name.

With most routers, if you haven't configured it, the NAT firewall should be on by default.

However, a software firewall behind the hardware one is a very good idea; particularly since most router firewalls only check incoming traffic. A good software firewall such as Zone Alarm also checks outgoing traffic - this can be very useful sometimes.

But, as Aragorn points out, you may need to configure the software firewalls to allow the other machines on your network: Aragorn suggested doing this by computer name, but you can also do it by IP number.
