that was nearly a disaster

 I just did a google for "cartoon animals" looking for pictures for the kids
talk about porn I never realised there was so much of it. luckily I noticed the website address before I clicked anything.

may have to have a look later though ;) when the kids are in bed

what? you just did 'cartoon animals'? How on earth did that return p0rn?

EDIT: Aye carrrrrumba, you weren't joking m8! The mind boggles, but I will *not* be clicking on anything to find out.

FURTHER EDIT: Makes you glad you didn't just go straight for a Google Image Search, huh?

what worries me is the search was perfectly innocent and could easily be something kids would search for.
for a test I did a google for "sex" and got a tamer far more sensible set of results

I just googled for "cartoon animals" and (the first 2 pages) at least were innocent sites about "cartoon animals"
edit--lol The problem is that you didn't put the search terms in inverted commas.
I removed the "" and also got a load of porn:D

dont know for sure ( aint gonna mess about with settings in my state ) but your settings should filter out any nudity ( for those of you with kids using the pc ) if you have it set up, shouldn't it ?? :dunce:

Like i said, not really thinking strait at this point in time :drunk:

By default, Google SafeSearch is set to Moderate. At this setting, it filters p0rno pictures from an image search, but not porno web page results in a regular search. You have to change the setting to Strict to have the best chance of eliminating all the p0rn. I just tried this and 'cartoon animals' (without quote marks) returned nothing dodgy (at least in the 1st 3 pages I checked anyway).
