10mbit - £37.99 or £34.99
 

I read on here that the prices were going to change in JAN for 10mbit to £34.99. I di not mind paying the extra £10 a month for the better speed but my bill popped through my door today and Jan - Feb 2006 = £37.99 :(

Now I called up and the CS had no clue what I was on about, I then downgraded to 2mbit and asked some questions:

1. When is the prices coming down
2. Will I be double billed Yet again due to change of service

Funny thing was - no-one was there, he had downgraded me and cut me off..

Doesn't state begining of January so the price reduction is still likely to happen it's just there is no set date announced yet.

I had a email from ntl and it said from jan 2006 aswell?

I also read jan but I noticed ntl updated their website to reflect the 1 and 2 meg going to unlimited but didnt update the 10meg price which struck me as odd. Considering the unlimited factor and I think 75gig cap is a bit on the low side and they are going to start testing cap enforcement soon I will probably be downgrading this week and not taking a chance if its 37.99 or 34.99.

The Bill though Covers Jan - Feb 2006, so the price is def £37.99 till at least Feb 11th by the Bill I got. The Only reason I kept the 10Mbit was on the grounds it was going down in my perception in jan 2006, as it has not cannot see the point of Paying an Extra £13 a month for the Speeds to be low->High but in fact I can pay £13 Less and hit 236KB/Sec on most downloads and also without worrying about the said Cap thing.

As I metnioned I was asking him a few questions to verify the bill was right, if the prices were going down and so forth but he had already cut me off - I am guessing they want to get people off the phone ASAP to get the next Caller / Go Home. If he had stuck around and give me some answers, NTL would have been £10 / £13 richer per month but never mind - Job done now !!

I waited 20 Mins to get through (Thank god for Hands Free) and chatted for less than 2 mins if that. Def was not going to wait in the queue again to be honest...

Until the day that the price goes down billing will show the current price even if it is advance billing for the month ahead. Bills issued after the day that the price alters will make adjustments for advance payments already received that have been charged at the previous price.

If the price changes mid-January (say 15th) then that is correct as you were billed at the rate applicable on Jan 12th.

What i think i is, you will receive the price at 34.99 on Feb statement!
