Wireless Blueyonder

I currently have a Blueyonder Wireless connection (via set top box and a Netgear WG602v3 WAP). It’s the nature of this set up to only support 1 PC and it has a 1Mb limit. The 1Mb limit is OK for my requirements but I would like to be able to connect a laptop to the broadband connection.
As the two PC’s don’t need to access the net at the same time could I install the same software (supplied by Blueyonder for the desktop wireless connection) onto the laptop and swap the USB Netgear Adaptor between desktop and laptop as-and-when required?

If the above causes problems an alternative would be to replace the WG602 v3 WAP with a Netgear WGR614UK wireless router. It’s my understanding that to set it up I’ll need to initially connect the router to the PC with wire. Once set up the wire can be removed hence going fully wireless. My question is can the WGR614UK then be switched off for periods of time without needing to re-make the hardwire connection and setting up again?
Any advice appreciated

Re: Wireless Blueyonder

Yes you ca switch it off as much as you like.

You might want to consider the offerings from linksys :-) There are loads of people here with their 54g wireless router that could help with setting it up.
