homepage servers not synchronizing ?
I upload xml via ftp to my weather homepage every 15 minutes. Since yesterday I noticed that the homepage time is sometimes correct the 30/45 minutes older. Eg last night I could display my 2145 then 2200 readings, then it displayed 2100 readings. Since I know everything is OK at my end it must be at ntl that there is a problem.
Assuming the servers are clustered then maybe they are not synchronising immediately - up to 1 hour late. Anyone checking ther weather in Hextable will be getting very confused - like me ! Anyone else noticed the problem ? My website is http://homepage.ntlworld.com/sutton....rweb/index.htm |
Re: homepage servers not synchronizing ?
Maybe it's not the server but the Proxy not synching correctly which would explain old data appearing now and then.

Re: homepage servers not synchronizing ?
I agree - it's much more likely that you are seeing a cached copy from the proxy - try a CTRL-F5 when it happens.

Re: homepage servers not synchronizing ?
Don't think its that.
I've just returned to my PC after many hours working in the garden. My weather page has been on-screen all day (re-loads itself every 5 minutes). At 16:57 it showed 16:45 (correct). I F5'd and it showed 16:30. Ctrl-F5 also shows 16:30. Its the first time I've ever noticed it with my weather page (2 years) and it has been so obvious yesterday/today. I don't know whether 'homepage' data is on clustered etc servers but for the most part you would not notice the problem except where pages are frequently updated (ie like mine, every 15 minutes). I'm still puzzled. |

I didn't say CTRL-F5 would actually work - just a suggestion to try it and see. ;)
