BT outsourcing broadband technical support

Don't know if this has already been posted, but according to an article on The Register website. BT is outsourcing its broadband technical support to India:

Heh, love this quote

Quote:

"There are cost savings [from this deal] but not at the expense of customer service," he said
Er yea, right.

Yep massive outsourcing to our group in India so you all need to hope that our VOIP system stabilises. On the flip side though, they are creating an additional 600 jobs in the UK and are looking to re-locate as many people from the closed centers as possible. Believe me though, not everyone in BT is happy about the amount of work leaving the country :( All we can see is customers gettinf fed up with trying to understand our staff in India (they do their best but English is a second language to them).
