Installing NTL BB with different user accounts
I've just got NTL 1meg BB istalled and I have to say I am very impressed. The engineer turned up on time, took only 10 mins to install and, after I ran the CD, the broadband worked straight away.
I only have one problem and I would appreciate any help. I am running win xp and have 3 user accounts, 1 for each member of my household. I ran the CD logged on as myself, but the BB has not been set up on the other user accounts. I have tried running the CD when I am logged on one of the other user accounts, but it says it cannot connect to NTL. I have a cable modem connected to the ethernet port. I know there is probably a really simple sollution, and I am being thick but there is a 30min queue on the tech support line, so I would really appreciate any help. :welcome: to Cable Forum :D
You need to make the changes with the setup using an account on the PC that has full administrator rights. Realistically it should not be necessary to run a CD, unless you are connecting using USB rather than ethernet (ethernet is frequently more reliable). ---------- Post added at 19:37 ---------- Previous post was at 19:36 ---------- Moving to ntl Broadband discussion |
Re: Installing NTL BB with different user accounts
If you make sure all the settings are the same on all accts it should work....go to tools-internet options-conections tab...make sure never dial has a spot next to it, lan settings all box's are clear and no checks in them. this should be all you need to get the other accts working.
Hope this helps. |
