Netgear MR814 Obtaining an IP Address

Hello,

I am trying to get a Netgear MR814 V2 W/less router working. I have had it working by selecting defaults and dynamic IP, then after an hour or 2, the connection to the internet dies (the wireless network is still there).

Even through hard wiring a PC to the W/less router & the router to the NTL cable modem, the connection dies & leaving the router & PC off for 12 hours or so, you get connectivity for again 1 hour or 2.

When it has died, you cannot release & renew the IP of the router through one of the menu's in the router config. It cannot, hence this is where I see the problem is, but could be wrong!!

Can anyone shed any light on this? Is this a known issue with Netgear?
Is there a simple config setting on the router?
Things I have tried to date: copy MAC address of PC that does work direct to the cable modem to the router. Entering host name of PC into the router. Rebooting modem, router and PC and leaving off, then back on etc etc

Any help and I will be a happy man!!!
