Mirror a network connection with hub?

Scenario-

Somebody has access to a computer terminal with restricted user rights and a connection to the internet via Ethernet.

Can the ethernet connection be shared via a hub and served wirelessly to adjacent rooms?

The terminal is running Windows 2000 Service pack 4.

This depends. If the machine is in a company, they will probably have a DHCP server somewhere, and, the hub should work. Be aware, however, that they may have restrictions on the network preventing non-authorised devices being attached. You may also find that any attempt to attach a non-authorised device may bring disciplinary action (it does where I work).

If this isn't the case, then the easiest option would be to connect a wireless router between the Windows 2000 PC and it's network connection.
