Terayon TJ210 - Can it cope?

Hi everyone

I've just been told by NTL Broadband support that the Terayon TJ210 modem can cope with the 10mb connection as it gets a firmware upgrade from the server.

Does anyone know if this is correct. I hope it is. But I have my doubts
Currently I'm getting half the connection (about 5mb d/l)
From what I have read, the Terayon has no admin panel to log onto so I cannot find out what version of firmware it has

NTL CS told me it could

People here have said it can
People here have said it cannot

I have this modem as well? so I'm just as lost myself

Im getting about 8meg using the same modem. I've been told by CS that it CAN handle it but the weird thing is, my next door neighbour had one running at the same speed as mines and when it broke the other day he got a new Samsung one and its getting the full 10meg.

The engineer who replaced our ailing TJ210 said not only could it not take 10mb, but that the network upgrades for 10mb are what killed it.
I didn't believe him though.

Theoretically, the Terayon can do 10Mb (i.e., it can handle it via the CATV port). However, it only has a 10BaseT Ethernet port so you're not going to see the full 10Mb when using it.

Hello again everyone :)

I have waited some time now for the 10mb upgrade to settle down and for any issues within the test period to be resolved.

Now then, please could someone from within NTL tell me.........

Can my Terayon TJ210 be replaced? As it still cannot cope with the full 10mb service which I pay for.

(I have done all manner of speed tests and they all confirm this, the ntl speed test, newsgroup test, and many other website tests from these forums)
I still get about 5-6 mb

Please someone kindly help

ask them to replace it or down grade you if your not getting the service you paid for i cant see them being able to force you to stay on 10 meg and more likely to just replace it

I get 8meg and that will do me until they waive the rediculous £50.00 surcharge.

I didn't believe him though.

That's pretty much exactly what I was told.
