Cant connect to my NTL FTP

Hi,
It's been awhile since I last tried to connect to my NTL webspace area. I downloaded the latest Terapin and tried to connect but just keep getting a connection reset by peer error!

I have entered my user name and current email password along with the FTP server upload.ntlworld.com. Alas it just keeps saying connection reset. I've fired off an email to NTL support but alas haven't had a response. It looks to me like a password issue but as the password works fine for my primary email account so I'm a bit lost. I'm just hoping for a quick resolution as I need to upload some data. :(

I tried this too using IE but also came up short. . .

ftp://user.name:password@upload.ntlworld.com

Can someone please help me.

hi :welcome: to Cable Forum

the most usual cause of this is that changing your email password does not 'carry through' to your webspace password. You will most likely find the webspace still needs the original password assigned when you first signed up. Unfortunately if you don't have a record of the original, you will have to phone NTL to have it reset, as any 'automatic' password retrieval will just give you the new one.

Hi thanks for the warm welcome and thanks for the quick response. I'll try and dig out my old password tonight.

Great forum btw, and great users too!

Once again, many thanks!

:)

I seem to have a similar problem but do not think it is password related. It seems all info has dropped out of my site definition and I need to reinput. Can someone advise what the NTL FTP host name is, also the Path for the host directory? I have spoken to NTL technical, they could not help!! and gave me an email address which did not respond. I am still waiting for a reply from their CS

the host is upload.ntlworld.com

then you need the username/password

access is then via

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/username/

in which you will need to have an index.html file
