etec wireless router DoS problem-please help!

hi there sorry to have to make my 1st post!

We had NTL 1meg installed recently, but have had disconnection issues intermittently.
I wil detail my selfup and hopefully somebody can tell me how to fix it!

NTL 250 modem
Etec XG-2180 wireless router
1 laptop with Intel/Pro/Wireless 2200BG
1 laptop with BT Voyager 1060 PCMIA
1 PC with BT Voyager 1040 PCI
(all running XP)

Have a series of problems, as follows.
1)Disconnections at seemingly random times. There are no wireless phones in the house and it's not the microwave.
2)Cannot get WEP enabled-This is probably my fault.Have tried to do so through the router setup page but then the internet only works on my laptop and not on the other two computers.Think this is an issue with Windows XP.
3)There is another wireless network in range of our router which is also not secured-possible interference?have checked router log and they are not leeching off our bandwidth.

I have tried many things mentioned on this site, including disabling Wireless Zero Configuration, which helps for a while then the connection drops again.

The connection can be regained by rightclicking on the network connection in the system tray and clicking repair, or resetting the router.

The router DoS log also displays this

Wan->Lan [TCP]|[From:82.3.50.1 Port:64334 To:81.110.124.159 Port:52248] Block SYN with Data

every time the connection drops.

The router cannot be pinged when the connection drops.

Hope this is clear enough and somebody can help me out.

:welcome: to Cable Forum :D

The first thing I'd look at is changing the frequency channel used by your network. Try to find somethign quite different from you current one, and ideally well away from the neighbour's one.

hi rob-have changed the router's location and the channel-to no avail-seems to boil down to this strange DoS problem. I don't understand what this means-any ideas?
and thanks for your wee man welcoming me to the site-have learnt so much since i joined!
