Cable help
Hello, I already know that the broadbang analogue cable, digital cable is sent down on line or in my case 2 lines, (i have broadband through a cable modem) so if i was to use a splitter, im already using a 1-1000mhz splitter if i was to connect a digital reciver to this line would it recive digital signals or would it be to overrun with the internet+digital tv, or would i need a better splitter?
PS: I am aware this is a bold question and it perhaps verges on being illegal but i assure you i have no illegal intentions. Thanks. |

:welcome: to the forum
I believe you can only get Digial TV from a NTL Set Top Box (STB), and that freeview cannot be received in all NTL areas. I cannot receive freeview in my area CM20. |
Re: Cable help
I do have a NTL STB and no i havent aquaired it illegaly eg. ebay and am thinking of hooking it up to my broadband connection to see if i can recive any digi tv chanells, but at the moment i am weary of it overloading my line eg. reciving too much services at once, or shutting down services on my line and dont know weather my splitter as mentioned, 1-1000mhz will work with digital signals.

Re: Cable help
The box you have "aquired" is property of ntl- if you have services with them you should contact customer services to ensure that you receive the channels you are paying for.
If you have previously had services with ntl, you should note that it is your duty to return the set top box to ntl. From the terms and conditions: http://www.home.ntl.com/page/termsresidential Quote:
As i cannot think of any other ligitimate way of aquiring an ntl set top box, i am closing this thread. Soad- if you can provide me with information (via private message- click "sendPM" on my post) about how you have the box legally, then i may be prepared to reopen this thread. |
