XP + x64 dual boot and upgrade queries

I am currently running x64 trial edition and I'm about to buy it.

It is installed on my Raptor and all my programs are installed on the raid array.

I also intend to dual boot with XP as some of my Flight Simulator aircraft don't work properly in x64.

My two questions are:

1. What is the best and easiest way (if it is even possible of course) to drop 32 bit XP onto my current system so it will dual boot.

2. How will the "upgrade" to the full version of x64 affect my current system? Am I naive in thinking there is a chance things will be identical except without the timebomb and evaluation text on the desktop?

Thanks a lot.

Re: XP + x64 dual boot and upgrade queries

I tried this the other way round about 2 weeks ago (I have a xp32 and installed a xp64 on another, fresh HDD) The new xp64 install noticed my xp32 setup and had a good go at fecking up my internet connection and graphics drivers.
It is now an ex xp64 install and after a degree of blood, sweat and swearing I have a working connection again and am not blue screening at random....:dozey:
Having said that, I know a few people here who dual boot 32 and 64 with no problems at all:)

So, if I was you I'd get a new HDD, set it up and install the xp32 on that.......

install 64bit first, and install 32bit afterwards..... all works fine... (been running dual boot for about 6 months now)

If you do it the other way round, it does seem to screw up.... dunno why :S
