Connection Problems
I have switched on my SB3100 modem today and am not getting an IP address. The modem gets all the usual green lights on the front and the activity light flickers a bit but still I do not get a network address.
I've tried all the usual stuff, disconnecting from my router and leaving it off for a while and connecting it directly to my pc but with no joy. Any sugguestions would be appreciated..... Thanks |
Re: Connection Problems
:welcome:
have you contacted ntl regarding this problem? If so, what have technical support said/ done? |
Re: Connection Problems
When you say you dont get a network address, are we talking on the PC (whilst its connected through the router?) If this is the case, its not an NTL problem, but a problem with the DHCP connection from the router > PC (provided you run on a DHCP enabled LAN)......

Re: Connection Problems
Hi,
Made a some progress and managed to get into the modem config using a static address as the DHCP option was disabled on the SB3100 modem. I have noticed the the config file it's downloading is now noserv.cm, does anybody know what this file does or is it time to ring ntl. Thanks |
Re: Connection Problems
noserv = No Service. The broadband access on this cable modem has been disabled. If you want to know why, you will need to ring NTL Customer Service.
