question for the web developers

I have a problem to sort and many ways to do it but which is best ?

I have 5 domains names, I need all 5 to have the same web site on.

I have 1000mb of uk2 web space with no php, cgi, msql support as standard.
To upgrade the uk2 webspace for the required support will be £2.41 per month but this requires me to extend the period I am ties to them to 1year 11 months because thats what they do .

I have 100mb and 300mb of luverly i-web solutions webspace which comes with all manner of shiney niceness that I require.

I have got a web site developed on the 100mb of webspace and need to make it live now. Its based on mambo and has a sql dbase.

The 1000mb web space and domains are owned by work the i-web space is my personal space.

Can I simply divert the domain (ie www.e-itil.co.uk ) to my website on my 100mb?

This is the web site btw http://handyman.no-ip.org/mambo/

What I thought would be to use the uk2 web space to host all of the downloads and images and use the 100mb i-web for the general web site and msql.

Or am I better biting the bullet and tying the company to uk2 for longer given that when It expires in 11 months time I would like to get us on i-web for the lot with 123-reg admining the domains.

Now the questions....

If I simply redirect or webdivert to my space will that affect the spidering/how the site is ranked?

Can I simply direct each of the domains to the one space and have google think they are all independant?

How hard would it be to move over the test mambo directory and mql db to the uk2 space?

Is there anything else I have missed?

Oh and a special mention for jon M and bbking who's time spent on friday/saturday has made It possible for me to be able to start work on this. Reps a plenty when I find a second.....:D

Re: question for the web developers

You set this up in CPanel on your iweb space as add on domains (this parameter never seems to be set up properly so you may need to raise a ticket), then you add them on there and it automatically points them to the same space in the same way the www.xxx.co.uk and the xxx.co.uk and if you've set them up https:// all point to the same html folder.
Having used UK2 for hosting in the past, personally I'd bite the bullet and move the whole hosting, images an all to one place, iWeb, that way your html can have relational links (e.g /images/file1.gif) rather than full http://www.theothersiteonuk2.co.uk/images/file1.gif).

Your tracking stats etc on the iWeb interface will show all traffic too.

I've sent you a PM so you can see how it works when set up on cPanel in iWeb. I don't want to publish the domain names here as it confuses search rankings having a wedding site on a cable forum.

Thanks for that thats great. Does google treat each one independantly?

And what would I need to do with uk2. Their admin page seems carp comapred to others I cannot see where to simply change the nameservers over to the i-web space like i have been able to with 123-reg.

It's the content of the site that will affect the ranking most.

I'm now logged into MSN if you need to get a quick response on anything :)

Yes it does if you do a
site:sitename.co.uk search on Google you will see all the different sites, you will see some return more results than others, so it does parse them independantly.

Nameserver change is a no fee thing on UK2 which compared to some of their other cost structure is suprising, but welcome.

cheers, however every one of my msn contacts is showing as offline? There normally a few on at least 10 or so during the day. Maybe its something to do with using web messenger?
