Can't get to cable modem address 192.168.100.1
Hi all
I'm using a Linksys router and have been able to get to 192.168.100.1 previously. I have tried restarting the modem and router but this makes no difference. Has something changed. I wanted to confirm my speed in the next few days due to the 10mb upgrades. Any ideas? :dunce: Mark. |

Have you configured your web browser to use a proxy server? If so, remove it and try again.

No, not using any proxy.
I've even checked the routing tables on the router and it says that that it sends all 192.168.0.0 packets to the wan connection. |

Re: Can't get to cable modem address 192.168.100.1
The IP 192.168.100.1 you have just posted, assuming you are using default Linksys router settings would be for the starting IP range of your LAN network.
Try looking at the admin pages of your router IP 192.168.1.1. From there you may be able to see the status pages that in turn will show the IP ranges being given between your router and and the modem. __________________ As this is problem is created as a result of your network setup: Moving to Computers & IT |
Re: Can't get to cable modem address 192.168.100.1
I've done a hard reset on my router and powered off my modem again. I've picked up a completely different IP address from a different subnet altogether, maybe this was part of the problem.
For info, my old address started 80.3.0.0 and my new addess is 82.16.0.0 I can now access the modem ok. Thanks for all your suggestions. |
