Router Problems !
Hi all
My has just contacted NTL to be told the reason he is having internet access is a router problem :dozey: :dozey: :dozey: Does he need to do anything to get it resloved as I am not sure how it was left with NTL. Is there anyway he can do a quick fix or does it need another call to CS ???? Thanks Mike |
Re: Router Problems !
Mike - he needs to identify the problem without the router in the equation, remove it from the setup to basically eliminate it from bring the actual problem.
P.S (I've moved this to the Computers & IT forum just incase it isn't an ntl issue). |
Re: Router Problems !
Erm how about telling us what type of router it is ;) As Mick says to eliminate it from the equation you have to remove the router from the setup and check to see if anything changes (please make sure a firewall is running first though ;) )
If nothing changes with the connection with the router gone then it will point to something other than the router. (cables, card, STB/ SACM, windows settings etc) |
Re: Router Problems !
Thanks guys ........ I have to be honest is over my head so I will get he to phone CS.....
What is a router is it something you cycle on ???? :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: Thankk Mike :) |
Re: Router Problems !
A router is a piece of equipment that some people use to connect multiple computers to a single connection or to network a group of computers.
google description If your friend/ relation has a problem with his/ her connection then if you get a few details from him/ her we might be able to suggest something. Basics like what operating system is he/ she running, how is the computer connected to the BB feed (SACM or STB) is it connected via a router, 2nd pc etc, is it connected via USB or ethernet, is he/ she running a firewall, what is the actual connection problem? |
Re: Router Problems !
I cannot acces the web interface of my actiontec r3010suw router (by typing 192.168.0.1 in my IE browser), message "the page cannot be display" appear.
Can anywone to help me to make a MAC cloning? Does anywone knows the commands in telnet mode? Please, help me! C |
Re: Router Problems !
Have you specified a proxy in IE? If you have you need to exclude the 192 address.
|
Re: Router Problems !

Re: Router Problems !
How are you connected to the router? Is the router working at the moment (can you see the router through the PC?) if not you may want to set the router up via an ethernet cable first and then go wireless.
What ISP are you connecting via and what operating system and broadband modem are you using? It may not be necessary to clone the MAC into the modem but you could have a read through here and then ask for further help if that makes no sense to you. |
